PostSubject: Duel Terminal - The Afterstory   Sat Nov 30, 2013 4:38 pm

Alright... so I finally decided to sit down and type this whole thing up; hopefully we can actually start within the next couple days! Anyway, may I present to you all...

DUEL TERMINAL: THE AFTERSTORY

Plot:
First of all, for any newcomers to this RP, be sure to read this thread: http://charmer-yugioh.vampire-legend.net/t53-duel-terminal-and-it-s-story
Also, Eria, if there's any misinformation that needs to be fixed in this plot summary, please let me know! (That being said, this story certainly doesn't have to be canon in any way.)

This RP is the story of what happens after Konami's official Duel Terminal story ends; in other words, after the goddess Sophia is defeated by Evilswarm Kerykeion and Constellar Sombres and the wars are over. There are two salvaged tribes that have survived the Verz invasion: the Gustos and the Gishkis. While they were once enemies fighting over the same land, this may not be the best plan for them to continue anymore, since after the wars, they have been decimated to only a few members each. Now, each tribe must try to rebuild itself so as to establish a more prosperous lifestyle and retain its former glory. Whether they choose to resume their territorial clash or declare an alliance or truce is up to the players! And of course, there are plenty of other creatures lurking about in the wilderness with their own motives...

Cast:
The following characters are currently in this RP.
  • Gishki Avance - Hippocampus
  • Gishki Erial - Eria
  • Reeze, Whirlwind of Gusto - Runo
  • Kamui, Hope of Gusto - Angelionic
  • Winda, Priestess of Gusto - ΛΔ
  • Steelswarm Roach - ally of justice catastor
  • Night's End Sorceror - Binding Dharc
Other characters playable in this RP:
  • Gishki Emilia
  • Pirika, Lineage of Gusto
  • Naturia Leodrake
  • Others?
All other members of the Gusto/Gishki tribes, as well as any members of any DT archetype not listed above, are considered dead and thus cannot be controlled for this RP.

Rules:
1. All Charmer forum rules apply.
2. At the beginning of the game, you may choose 1 character to control from the main cast, unless we're seriously in need of more players lol. You can also control any other non-DT monster(s) as side characters as long as they are not part of an established archetype or story separate from DT (basically, use your own judgment if your character can really fit into this world or not). No overpowered characters are allowed!
3. OCs are not allowed to be played at the beginning of this story. If in time there comes a need to control an OC, that character cannot be a member of the Gusto or Gishki tribe, and it CANNOT be a human that doesn't hail from the Spirit World.
4. New players and characters can be added at any time, as long as you explicitly state which monster(s) you're going to be and it follows the guidelines set out in #2 and #3. Also, if a player wants to control a new character, they can appeal to do so in the same way.
5. If you're choosing to be a main character, you must pledge to remain active throughout the RP's lifetime. If you're not, then your character will be given to someone who is.
6. Your roleplaying style can be whatever you feel comfortable with, as long as what you write is legible.
7. This is an open RP, so anyone can contribute to the plotline. If you have a really cool plot device you'd like to add, or think something I made up really sucks, feel free to voice it in this thread.

If you would like to join, or need to ask about something, please post it in this thread: http://charmer-yugioh.vampire-legend.net/t886-duel-terminal-the-afterstory-discussion-joining-thread

It was too little, too late. A lone figure wandered along a rubble-strewn path, the only other living thing to be seen for miles being a small bird that circled above, dipping down every now and then with it's eyes on the trudging creature below. The bird let out a chirp of protestation just loud enough for it's earthbound partner to hear, letting him know he was moving too slowly. This prompted the green-haired boy to lean his head back and look up at the avian, eyes narrowed at the creature. Bringing a hand up to shield his eyes from the blinding light of the sun, he spoke now, making sure not to sound to cross. To be fair, the bird was used to a faster pace then this.

"Yeah, yeah Falco. I get it. The heat doesn't bother you! But it's pretty darn toasty down here, so cut me some slack! We're not in the forest anymore!" With that, Kamui let out a sigh. He sure did wish that they were still in the forest. Unfortunately, Kamui wasn't quite sure where he or Falco were right now. It had been a few weeks since that... thing happened, and he still wasn't quite sure where he'd ended up. In all the chaos, he and his partner had managed to end up very far away from they're home... He hoped. The young boy wasn't quite sure whether or not he really had been whisked away. For all he knew, this could be what was left. Maybe the nightmares had won after all.
"This sucks..." he griped, kicking some dirt from his path. "Why couldn't I just stayed watching the forest? That was a lot more fun than this..."

Unfortunately, that wasn't the first of many things Kamui was worried about. The sun was really starting to get to him, and he wasn't quite sure if he could go on much longer with the scarce amount of food and water he had. Worse still was what would happen after sun-down. It was bad enough right now with the oppressive heat bringing on a sweat that would fill a canal from Kamui, but once the moon came to cast it's pallid gaze upon the land, the temperature of the desert would plummet. Kamui knew this only because of last night, which if not for his coat to cover him and a few ferns from an oasis serving as fuel for a campfire, he'd likely not have survived. Kamui looked ahead, searching for some kind of respite from the harsh conditions. It did not occur to him to look directly in front of him, nor to respond to the rapid squawking that Falco was emitting above him right before the youth tripped and fell face first into a large hole in the ground.

"Wa- Nononooooooooooooo!!"

Avance woke up late that day, a little too late for his liking. The sun was already high in the sky, and if it wasn't for his house being one of the few left with its roof still intact, it would've gotten him up hours ago. As he sat up in bed and stretched, he glanced over to the empty half of the bed beside him. Emilia must've forgotten about me, he thought to himself. Maybe she's out talking with Erial or something.

He walked over to his family Aquamirror and looked at it as he got dressed. The mirror appeared duller now that the war was over. It would never lose the magical qualities bestowed upon it by Avance's foster mother, but since no one currently needed to rely on that magic, it merely hung on his wall like an ordinary heirloom. Feeling content with his outfit, Avance gave the mirror a light polish before picking up his trusty sword and sliding it into the pouch on his belt.

Almost immediately after he had stepped outside his house, Avance heard someone calling his name. "Hm? Who is it?" he replied and turned to look.

At the bottom of the hole, the Night's End Sorcerer sat with his transparent scythe propped up in the ground next to him. He appeared to be sleeping, but just before Kamui hit the ground, he moved his arm, grabbed his scythe, and swung his across the ground, creating a tangible and soft bed of darkness where Kamui landed safely.

Only then did the young Spellcaster open his eyes and look at his sudden guest. "You know, you should really pay more attention to where your walking." He told the boy that fell in, and then the bed of darkness vanished from underneath him and the Night's End Sorcerer propped his scythe back up next to him. "Who are you anyways?"
