Chaos is always fun. Have you tried teching Dark Armed in here?

Nah, games typically never even last long enough to be able to bring him out.

Plus the deck has so much field control as is that his effect doesn't even seem all that needed. Not to mention he'd probably just slow the deck down. Being a third monster with specific summoning requirements, and the most restrictive one at that.

Lavalval Chain was an idea, but tbh I think with as many Lv4's I have I'll just not end up really needing to use him ever. Now if I can get a decent Chaos HERO build working....

Heroes are so freakin' versatile! You can really make any kind of strategy with them. I own a Agent deck with Destiny Heroes mixed in, and have tested a few other different Hero decks. What kind of strat are you thinking about? I could give you some tips if you'd like Wink

No idea yet. I did have a deck that used the light/dark attribute Noble Knights in conjunction with some of the light E-HEROes, but the synergy wasn't very good admittedly and I also noticed that the dark noble knight just straight up wasn't very useful.

That being said though, not to sound stuck-up or anything, but I've been playing HEROes since EEN (was collecting since TLM, but I didn't feel they had enough cards for them to be feasibly playable until EEN) so I generally seem to have a pretty good idea what to do for them.

Main problem here is a severe lack of good dark mons for E-HEROes or cards that work in conjuncture with them, and there being basically NO good usable D-HEROes that don't require tributes. Not to mention that even with recent cards that work for any HERO monster, D-HEROes and E-HEROes still don't blend very well together. Too bad the only omni-HERO that required generic HERO mon+attribute was Absolute Zero. If they were all like that, HERO hybrid decks could've probably been more playable.

Actually on the E-HERO/D-HERO thing, I do find that kinda depressingly hilarious. In the past D-HEROes were the stronger of the two and very dominant in the meta. Now with all the support they've gotten over the years, E-HEROes pretty much dominate them. Haven't hit it hard in the meta the way D-HEROes did with DDT and the very early Perfect Circle builds yet, but still.

Haha, that's not being stuck-up; that's backing up your credentials. Personally I thought Heroes were pretty cheesy when they first came out (although that was because I thought GX was a bad spin-off of the original show Razz), and I had stopped playing by the time D-Heroes were made, so I can't say I know everything about them. But I have dabbled with them in recent times, since as I mentioned before, they have loads of different strategies. I even made a Hero Exodia deck one time... was pretty lolsy.

Well the D-Hero/E-Hero thing makes sense... weren't they supposed to be enemies in the anime or something?

Now that I think about it, I can't really think of any good Dark monsters either, aside from Chaos/Twilight techs, so I guess Destiny Heros are really the only ones who can actually make a decent chaos deck. But there's always Lightrays... XD

What a coincidence.

That's my exact thoughts on 5D's and ZEXAL!

I had one that abused the Disk Commander draw engine long ago.

Him being hit is one of the few cards I'm always genuinely disappointed by, but at the same time completely understand.

No, and recent support further disproves that.

Well that goes without saying. Every new series gets worse and worse. I don't know anyone who actually enjoys Zexal.

Yeah there are a few cards like that for me too. One of which is Sangan... my plant deck will never be the same Sad

Back to the original post, have you tried Dark Resonators instead of Spirit Reapers? They're resistant to battle like Spirit Reaper, but they're Tour Guide targets, and they're also Tuners, which can help you expand your Extra Deck. Looking at your decklist again, I don't see you hardly ever making any Rank 4 Xyzs, unless you pull off some great plays with Mind Control or something. So you could take those out and throw in some varied Synchro monsters. Just a thought

I have, but I just in general prefer Reaper's constant battle shield. Not to mention his battle damage effect is pretty great for disruption.

Tbh, I think I'd be mroe likely to just drop the Tour Guides and Night Assailant for something else. Only problem is I have no idea what for yet.

Night Assailant is strong by himself. I can see why he wouldn't work in your build though.

If you're looking for Dark monsters, here are some I think are pretty useful:
-Doomcaliber Knight
-Necro Gardna
-Gorz
-Tragoedia
-Blackwing - Gale
-Breaker the Magical Warrior
-Krebons
-Trance Archfiend
-Jinzo
-Tsukuyomi
-and the Spell card Allure of Darkness

Of course, depending on what you pick, you'd have to alter your Extra Deck accordingly. Tour Guide adds consistency and Rank 3 plays like no other monster does in your deck, so taking it out may change your strategy. You'll definitely notice a difference.

...Or are you thinking of adding more Spell/Traps?

I think my spell/trap lineup is pretty decent already, and if I were to add more would just lead to me having a harder time drawing into mons I need.

Breaker or Doomcalibur would be decent choices though, since it'd give me more options to go into a rank-4. Instead of either lucking out with double Rai-Oh or Monster Reborn/Mind Control shenanigans. I mean really being able to abuse Lavalval chain would be p cool. (fun fact: every Chaos HERO deck varient I've tried out ALWAYS abuses this card)

Breaker allows for good backrow popping, but with less than desirable ATK afterwards. While Doomcaliber has good constant attack, but an effect that can be easily taken advantage of by a skilled player. Personally leaning more towards triple Breaker here, since I already have triple Veiler as a decent out for effect Negation. Plus I just in general kinda have really bad luck with forced activation cards.

Also, I doubt I'd have to worry TOO much about being unable to play rank-3s without the guide. Since honestly I feel 95% of my rank-3s are simply from Reaper/Marshmallon overlays. Only thing I'll be really missing out on is no more Guide to Leviair shenanigans after banishing for BLS Envoy or Chaos Sorc, but Guide was no doubt more usable when I still had Sangan in the deck. Now I feel its a decent splash-in, but one that doesn't exactly need to be in anymore.

Well in the end it's your Deck, so you know what it needs most. Glad I could help a bit!
I agree with your points about Breaker being better than Doomcalibur here, but if you wanted, you could always put 2 and 1 for added diversity. But it's up to you.

And yes, Lavalval Chain is very nice, basically a walking Foolish Burial. I was lucky enough to pull one the other day, along with Daigusto Emeral... but I'm bragging... Razz

I bought 4 HA07 packs before

and pulled 20 secret rares, including the Chain

But anyways, if I were to do more diversity, it'd probably be something like 2x Breaker and 1x some other Dark lv4. Tsukuyomi is an option, but I'm not sure how well he'd run for a deck that is more primarily focused on field disruption. Like I don't think it'd be bad, but it'd pretty heavily rely on mons I already have on the field to be of any use. Trance Archfiend I just straight-up don't like.

I'll probably do some research later when I feel like going through hundreds of different cards. But for now, it's

-1 Night Assailant
-2 Tour Guide From the Underworld
-1 Grenosaurus
-1 Number 30: Acid Golem of Destruction

+3 Breaker the Magical Warrior
+1 Lavalval Chain
+1 Temtempo the Percussion Djinn

btw, do spoiler tags just not work here or....?

Wat.

How is that possible? You only get 1 secret rare per pack. Misprint at the factory? O.o

How well does Muzurhythm work for you? And have you considered Maestroke?

Unfortunately, not to my knowledge. I've tried putting them in (both manually and by pressing the button), but they don't conceal the message, just indent it. Apparently, this has happened on other forums too, however, so I think there may be a problem with the forum software in general or something. Sorry Sad

surprised I forgot about Maestroke, swapped out the Bounzer for him

and I'm thinking of swapping the Pot of Avarice for another lv4 light/dark

post ideas for what, Breaker and Rai-Oh aren't options due to already running the maximum allowed for both

also yeah, I assume it was an error. not that I'm complaining, considering I managed to pull something like $115 value out of just $18 spent. better than what you'd even get from the best booster box pulls

Umm, if you like Lightsworns, you could try Lyla?
Other Level 4 techs I've seen are D.D. Warrior Lady, Alexandrite Dragon, Summoner Monk, Honest, Reflect Bounder, Phantom of Chaos, Blackwing Zephyros, and Dekoichi the Battlechanted Locomotive. Some might be more useful than others.

D.D. Warrior Lady and Honest look the best out of those listed

also, going through my holos, Blast Sphere and Milla look like pretty decent options too

I used to love Blast Sphere! It was so broken on my GBA game, and when I started playing again in 2010 I found it had been printed in that Machina structure deck, so I bought like 3 of them lol.

Also, at least side Milla if you don't main her. This way you can say you run a Charmer card in your deck lol

So did some edits for new format, because lol triple Guide and double Chaos Sorc begs me to revive this deck from the graveyard.

Nothing tested though, so no idea how any of it will run. Will likely be overhauled some more at a later point.

Utopia Roots? Lol never heard of that.
And I still suggest Temtempo over Muzurhythm.

Even for its nice effect, I feel that it's not very playable here. 5 of the six targets you have for it are better off staying in your hand, and like before, there's not much graveyard/banish retrieval. I'd think about another Rank 3 or synchro option instead.
